This is the brainchild of Natalie Welden, a microplastics researcher and post-doc at the Stockholm Environment Institute in York. Together with Natalie, and alongside invaluable support from Arran COAST and FSC Millport, we spent a couple of days training up new intrepid nurdle hunters. They will be conducting several nurdle surveys on a chosen beach over two months, to help us find out more about how pellets move around at sea and whether there are changes in pellet pollution over time.
The Clyde Nurdle Quest has slightly different rules of nurdle hunting compared to our usual nurdle hunts... specific instructions can be downloaded here. Copies of the CNQ data recording card can be downloaded here.
